About Arash Rahmati

Arash Rahmati is a Persian Setar player, performer, and music educator currently based in Japan.

Born in Tehran, Iran, he began learning the Setar at the age of 16. His musical training includes Persian classical music theory, rhythm, solfege, and traditional percussion under the guidance of Hossein Mehrani and Hadi Sepehri.

He has performed extensively in Malaysia and Japan, including cultural festivals, international concerts, embassy-supported events, workshops, and collaborative performances.

Major performances include Tokyo Tower Arts Festival, World Collaboration Concert II, and Nowruz cultural events organized with the Iranian Cultural Center in Japan.

Since 2019, he has been teaching Setar and sharing Persian musical culture with students in Japan.

He also holds a degree in International Business and Management from Multimedia University, Melaka, Malaysia.
